Escape to the countryside!

Escape to the countryside!

Being a reasonably practical girl and by reasonable, I mean that there isn’t really much reason for me to be practical with what I choose to place upon my feet. After all, I live in London a city that you can walk across from East […]

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

Today I’m feeling like the cat’s pajamas, wearing my French Sole Carla Heels in white and black leather with a silver deco trim. The reason for me to be looking so hotsy totsy, is that I’m hitting the town tonight, attending my very first Great […]

Luck be a lady in gold

Luck be a lady in gold

I don’t need a fortune cookie to tell me that I’m a very lucky person. All I need is to gaze upon my dazzling French Sole Starlight Glitter Ballet Flats to know that I’m the luckiest girl in the world. Yes, they are beautiful but […]

The Velvet Luxury

The Velvet Luxury

With the luxury of time on my hands before the start of Paris Fashion Week, I elected to take a stroll on the streets of the French capital with my pair of beautiful French Sole Hefner slippers. Rather than pursue my usual well-worn routes, I […]

Celestial Board Walkers

Celestial Board Walkers

Upon my return to London, I was reminded that it’s not easy to find somewhere among the bright lights of the big city from which you can spend a little time with the moon and the stars and to be able to dream a little […]

A Walk on the Wild Side

A Walk on the Wild Side

Romantic as I am, occasionally I like to take a walk on the wild side. And what better way to do that than with a pair of leopard print flats from French Sole’s signature collection, the purrfect choice for my latest adventure, an exploration of the urban […]

Love is in the air and as the wedding season is upon us, this month I’ve been doing a lot of singing! To quote Marilyn Monroe, my French Sole India flats, like diamonds… “Are a girl’s best friend”. . .   Those are praises sung from […]

Another Italian Adventure

French Sole Sandals

French Sole Sandals

I’m writing this between sips of my ice-cold Limoncello, not far from The Spanish Steps, relieved to be sitting down and giving my beautiful French Sole sandals a well-deserved rest. It seems only fair after all, as these super soft favourites of mine have been […]

Escape to the countryside!

Escape to the countryside!

Being a reasonably practical girl and by reasonable, I mean that there isn’t really much reason for me to be practical with what I choose to place upon my feet. After all, I live in London a city that you can walk across from East to West or North to South and during such a journey, never have to set foot on a single blade of grass. To this end, why should I then accept that if I so choose to travel to the countryside, and by countryside I mean Richmond Park, that I am expected to wear footwear that looks as though it’s been designed by engineers at NASA?

Insensé! I say, this is never going to happen and thus I present to you my solution, one of the great classic designs of footwear, my French Sole lace-up Brogues. Made from the finest leather, they come in tan or black but for my trip to the wilds, in support of my friend’s first horse riding lesson, I opted to wear the latter, so as to match my black jacket and autumnal tartan wool straight-leg trousers.

The Scottish theme, by way of my wardrobe selection, was no accident! Brogues owe their origin to a Gaelic shoe designed for cross-country wear and what with the horses, the deer and being in a Royal Park, I thought perhaps that I might capture the flavour of the Queen’s Balmoral estate before winter sets in. But don’t think for one second that my French Sole lace-up Brogues will only be touring in my imagination, they are the perfect choice of footwear for these cooler autumn days and for the explorer in us all.

I’m very curious how other French Sole fans are styling their French Sole Brogues! Do mention #frenchsoleblogbyamelie on your Instagram and I’ll be reposting the most creative looks on our FS page.

With love,

Amélie Florentine
